July 8th, 2008

i’ve got a lot to get done on kitsune paradise and kitsumuck, yet i’m feeling so fucking sluggish, it’s not even funny. fuck you, body. try being more energized more than just during peak times during the night while i’m at work. how about when i am at home, on my computer, wanting to do some skinning on a website, or some work on a story? yeah, that would be great.

seriously. i’ve been slacking too much, and i’ve gotta stop. i need to start working on shit again.

ashes divide

i got ashes divide’s cd in the mail today. and it is freakin’ awesome. sounds a lot like apc. and the lyrics booklet follows the tradition of having snippets from the lyrics in it. this is sweet.

bluetooth enabled backpack

April 7th, 2008

yesterday, i bought a motorola bluetooth audio transciever, which in actuality is a class one audio relay. it’s powered by usb, and doesn’t have an internal battery. me and alynna solved this issue by making a battery powered usb port, and running the thing off that.

so now i have it set up in my backpack, hooked up to my cd player (or mp3 player), and ready to go. it’s good to listen to music for 4 hours, which is plenty of time, since i don’t plan on being out for more than that long. if i do, then i’ll bring more batteries.

nested archives = stupid

March 19th, 2008

for those of you that frequent kitsune paradise, you may know that i installed a rpg system on there. last night, i set up rpg inferno (the free version, mind you). it took me ages to actually find the file, and once i found it, it was in .uha format. linux has no native archiving utility that supports that format. so, i try various uha extractors, and finally, i got some results in dosbox….and i found….a fucking .rar file.

you have no idea how pissed off i was. why would someone put an archive inside an archive? i have no issues with a split archive inside a single archive - to make downloading easier. but, a single .rar file inside another archive? and .uha?! seriously. what’s next? .zip inside a .rar inside a .7z inside a .tar inside a .uha inside a .ace?! if the archive is just *one fucking file*, then don’t fucking put it in a different archive and a different format — especially one that can’t be decompressed on linux natively.

regardless of that little problem there, i managed to get rpg inferno installed. it took me a while to hack it to make it compatible with my board’s software, but it works. now i just need to add all sorts of neat shit to it.

Edit: Here it is! And yes, I know the name’s got one letter wrong, but it’s no big deal. ^^’
