Naturally, I am referring to my old laptop which I’ve named “cyankon”. Since fall of 2009, it was having power issues. Even though it was plugged in, it would constantly switch between battery and A/C, as if it was being plugged and unplugged constantly. I originally thought this was caused by the power adapter – it looked fried on the end, and it was probably at its end of life. Hell, it needed to be repaired once. I wasn’t able to purchase a new adapter until the other day. I received it today, and used it. Same problem. This time, when I tried taking the adapter out of the jack, the end was stuck in there. It had melted in the jack. So, this rendered the new adapter useless, as well as the laptop itself. I managed to get the tip out, and it took the metal piece inside the jack with it.
I’m hoping to be able to get a refund for the power adapter. And as for the laptop itself, I will need to perform surgery. It needs a new power jack, and a new adapter. At least, that’s what I think. Since laptop repair is a bitch, I’m going to wait on that. When I get my tax refund, I am going to get a new case for my main PC.
Maybe someday, I can bring new life to this laptop.
I’m getting kicked out of my apartment. For not being Christian.
Let us rewind to this morning. Well, early afternoon. Because I went to bed late and was forced out of bed by my landlord. I was on the phone with the real landlord, and he wanted to talk to me about Jesus, and the bible. He wanted to invite me to church. He offered to let me borrow his bike on the condition that I look for work daily, and that I spend 15 minutes per day reading the bible. I refused. Why? I do not want to be converted to Christianity. I was raised Catholic, went to a Catholic school, a Christian high school, then after that, I went my own way. And I am not turning back from that. The only reason I would ever step foot into a church is if it is with my own family. Or if it’s with my friends from high school. Other than that, no. I will not be dragged into Christianity again.
Early this evening, I was told by my landlord that if I don’t get a job this week, or if I don’t change my heart, I am going to be kicked out. Fine. Whatever. I already have a plan B. It was my plan A before I had an interview with Burger King on Thursday. I am still waiting to hear from them, but I am working fast on this plan. At this point, I don’t care if BK doesn’t hire me. I want out of this place.
Now, before you say anything like “you can sue him” or whatever…No, I can’t. There is no binding contract or agreement. They are not legally obliged to let anyone stay here. I’ve been working off my rent during the past couple months, but that doesn’t mean anything. So, no.

i’ve finally gotten my motivation to write once again. kind of. you see, right now, people in orange shirts are banging on my roof. this means i would have a hard time sleeping. so i need something to do, other than read bash.org and some other fine websites. this something is, writing. i’m working on my stories – revising the crap i already wrote because of the crappy quality from back then. once that’s done, i will be doing new chapters. yay!
though i am not only using this time for writing, but i am also working on getting the new forum software set up for kitsune paradise. this mostly entails the themes. i’ve got them done for the most part. the only thing left is the buttons and some of the skins from the current incarnation of the community. once i get it all looking good, i can make it go live, and work on porting munjpets and inferno rpg over — the former being the easier to work with.
also, a note to collections agencies: fuck you. that means you, northland group. i’m not giving you shit. you people left me alone for over a year, then you start to haunt me with your collections notices. no! go away! i don’t even have the credit card any more, and it was dead as of 2007! get over it! i’m also not giving you guys shit for my allegedly unpaid verizon shit either, because i never received a bill from them for that account for months! fuck off!
for those of you that frequent kitsune paradise, you may know that i installed a rpg system on there. last night, i set up rpg inferno (the free version, mind you). it took me ages to actually find the file, and once i found it, it was in .uha format. linux has no native archiving utility that supports that format. so, i try various uha extractors, and finally, i got some results in dosbox….and i found….a fucking .rar file.
you have no idea how pissed off i was. why would someone put an archive inside an archive? i have no issues with a split archive inside a single archive – to make downloading easier. but, a single .rar file inside another archive? and .uha?! seriously. what’s next? .zip inside a .rar inside a .7z inside a .tar inside a .uha inside a .ace?! if the archive is just *one fucking file*, then don’t fucking put it in a different archive and a different format — especially one that can’t be decompressed on linux natively.
regardless of that little problem there, i managed to get rpg inferno installed. it took me a while to hack it to make it compatible with my board’s software, but it works. now i just need to add all sorts of neat shit to it.
