so, the year is almost over. what have i accomplished? well, i got fired from my job, and moved to another state which i actually enjoy more than california.
i still have yet to find another job. and right now, a job would make an excellent christmas present. i’m currently living off of the money i make off of the GPT sites you see to the right. it’s not much, but is enough to get me some food to eat. hopefully soon, i will find work.
i’m not going to worry about making new years resolutions right now. it’s pretty obvious what they are. i need to find work, and maybe actually start school. slacking on my projects is another issue i need to fix, and i’m already starting on that now.
still haven’t found a job. my plans to go out this week were pretty much scrapped because my roommate accidentally took one of my shoes with him to wisconson. as a result, we both have mismatched shoes until monday. he is letting me borrow his sandals, but those aren’t exactly kosher for job interviews. xD
i tried to apply to sears yesterday, but their online application system broke during the tax questionnaire part. i’m going to try it again today, and if it fails, i’m going to go there in person. i’ve also formed a list of places where i could submit applications – based on search results from careerbuilder and craigslist. thirteen places. and two from craigslist which i’ve e-mailed stating interest. i hope i get a job soon, because after november, i will not be able to pay any of my bills. (at least, rent and utilities).
on other news, i received payment from dollarclickorsignup. it wasn’t much ($1.05), but that was because i cashed out at the bare minimum. and i registered two days before cashout day. it showed me that these sites work. i have something to do on the side that will earn me a little bit of cash. and right now, i can use that little bit of cash.
also, i’ve found a theme that will most likely stick. i like this one.
nope. target didn’t hire me. fuckers.
this past week, i got a call from primerica financial services, inviting me to an interview. apparently they saw my resume on caljobs, and liked the fact i was a good cash register monkey or something. after research, i found that they were very bad people. so i didn’t go to the interview.
i’m continuing to submit applications to places. i should actually keep track of this shit. let’s see…hot topic, see’s candies, campus shell, safeway, rite aid, um…i forget where else. it’ll come to me. it’s the holiday season, so i need to get my name out there as much as possible. i kinda need a job, considering, i’m not getting unemployment benefits. luckily i have enough in my reserves to survive the next couple of months. assuming nothing tragic pops up.
in the meantime, i’m doing a little something to make money on the side. my sister’s blog pointed me to another blog of hers, regarding “get-paid-to” (gpt, for short) sites. all one has to do is check their e-mails, or fill out surveys, and they get a little bit of money. it’s not much, definitely not enough to live on, but it is a little extra cash to spend on lunch. i’ll find this quite useful to be able to buy food without dipping into my bank account so much. you can see a list of GPT sites i use on the right.
as for job hunting? i’m going to fill out a few online apps over the weekend ( cvs, staples, savemart… ). on monday, i’m going to go out and submit offline applications (sweet factory, gamestop, fry’s…).
